With the objectives of improving the motorway network in Central Scotland, upgrading the roads to reduce congestion and increasing journey time reliability, the project will ultimately boost Scotland’s economy by improving connections between the commercial centres of Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond.

With a concession period of 33 years, SRP is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of the motorway networks and is well underway with delivering against the strategic objectives – a key milestone being the launch of the new M8, known as the ‘missing link’. The completion of this seven-mile link road means the entire stretch between Edinburgh and Glasgow is now motorway and as a result motorists are saving up to 20 minutes on journey times.

Fulcrum provides a range of financial services to the M8/M73/M74 Network project.

A Good Neighbour Funding project launched by SRP has provided funding to local charities and community groups. This was set up to award up to £500 to non-profit community groups and organisations or schools living within the vicinity of the works. It was open to those who provide education and skills development; support a community initiative, group or charitable organisation; or benefit the local environment
